Pedro Pascal a été choisi pour le rôle de Joel dans la série télévisée The Last of Us de HBO, rapporte Deadline. Pascal joue actuellement dans The Mandalorian en tant que chasseur de primes titulaire, et vous vous souviendrez peut-être aussi de lui comme du fougueux Oberyn Martell, alias The Red Viper, de Game of Thrones.

La nouvelle du casting de Pascal dans la série The Last of Us HBO vient peu de temps après que nous ayons appris qu’un autre ancien de Game of Thrones, l’acteur de Lyanna Mormont, Bella Ramsey, avait été choisi pour Ellie. Avec les deux stars de la série maintenant au casting, nous avons une image claire de ce à quoi Joel et Ellie ressembleront à travers leur long et ardu voyage dans l’Amérique post-apocalyptique.

Pedro Pascal Bella Ramsey

Comme nous l’avons rapporté plus tôt avec la nouvelle du casting de Ramsey, des rumeurs circulaient mercredi soir selon lesquelles l’ancienne star de True Detective Mahershala Ali s’était vu offrir le rôle de Joel en face de Ramsey. THR avait déclaré qu’Ali était en considération pour le rôle à un moment donné, mais n’avait jamais conclu d’accord avec HBO pour le rôle.

La série télévisée The Last of Us donne vie à l’histoire acclamée de la survie compliquée d’Ellie et Joel avec le directeur créatif du jeu Neil Druckmann et le créateur de l’excellente série Tchernobyl de HBO, Craig Mazin, à la tête de la production. J’ai écrit il y a quelques heures à peine, avant d’apprendre que Pascal était choisi pour Joel, que chaque nouveau développement rendait la série télévisée The Last of Us encore plus prometteuse, et cette dernière nouvelle poursuit cette tendance.
